Folks: just a quick update (and I'll have another one after an engineering review later today). As you know we've shipped hundreds of Pixhawks and now have many thousands of flight hours logged; they're doing well. However, we've had a new issue with our third-party SD card supplier (cards were failing the stress test we run them through at the factory) and we've halted shipment for the past week or so while we source a better supply. The dev team is also working on some software updates that will make the code more tolerant of SD card variability (after all, we can't predict what kinds of cards users may use in the field) and we hope this will allow us to resume shipments shortly. I'll have an update on this later today.

My apologies to those who have been waiting a long time for theirs, and needless to say we're working full-tilt to resume shipments. But we really want you to have the best experience possible, so we're making sure we've completely resolved this SD card issue first. I hope that will just be a matter of a few days.

Update (1/7): Good news. As we'd hoped, the dev team has come up a code update that will handle SD card variability and so shipments of Pixhawk will resume tomorrow. The code patches will be in the next version of the Copter/Plane/Rover software, which will be released in the next few days (before those new Pixhawks arrive with customers).

I know this is a Pixhawk update thread, but is there one for the IRIS consumer Edition that is actually ACTIVE? 3DR seem to be being very quiet about it, perhaps there are serious issues. CS just says the pat lines 2 - 4 weeks and have been doing that for well over the time period. I am beginning to wonder if it will ever get mainstream. If anyone could point me to an active thread on this I would appreciate it.

I really like the Iris because if the enclosed design and cannot find a similar looking frame. I am thinking perhaps I should give up and go another route or build my own. :-(

Ian, we're still on target for mid-late Feb (ie, about three weeks) but will update as more samples come off the production line.

I'm happily flying my Pixhawk with my taranis.
I think the iris is based on Pixhawk isn't it?
So shouldn't it fly fine too?
Or am I missing something Chris?

Alan: Glad to hear it. We haven't tested Taranis ourselves, so we didn't want to put on the officially supported list until we had. But that's good news that it seems fine. Yes, Iris is based on Pixhawk, but we use a regular FlySky Tx/Rx with that.
