Lots of people are interested in the idea of a free Pathworks, especially in
conjunction with a free Unix. I have more than 50 addresses of people who are
interested, at varying levels. There is even one site that is currently using
this package as it is, although not on top of Linux. The original author has
said he is willing to look at participation in any ongoing development
effort, but would not be the prime-mover.

Now what? Is this body of interest going to be wasted?

I hope someone is willing to take the next step. Unfortunately I am up to
my ears in other development and can therefore only turn the contacts over
to someone else. I don't mind providing ftp disc space, though.
