Hey there,

Not too long ago, in a place a couple of blocks away, Josh and I were introduced to Sam by Seun Jin, he spoke with much enthusiasm about a way to compensate users for sharing and artists for creating. Having a background in P2P research and social technology business development, Josh and I partnered up with Sam and in the following weeks we created the Grooveshark Concept.

Today, we have assembled a fantastic team that will soon bring you the Grooveshark System. While we build the system though, we published this site in order to keep you updated on our progress leading to the final release of Grooveshark. We will be posting screenshots, videos, blogs, pictures and great creative commons [ http://creativecommons.org/ ] music for you to download, share and enjoy - Free!.

and a little about myself…

My name is Andres Barreto and I am the User Experience Designer of Grooveshark, my epic quest is to design the Grooveshark application so that it is easy and enjoyable for you to use as possible, and then find a way to take it a step further from the realm of possibility.

In addition to UX design - as an entrepreneur - I wear many hats, including the one of “Chief Operations Officer” and my job is to make our day to day operations as efficient sane as possible in order to bring you the Grooveshark System. This can get crazy at times with our “non-traditional” working hours, many of us at Grooveshark are full or part-time students at the University of Florida, so things can get hectic at times. However, thanks to the help of Michelle Ruiz - our Operations Coordinator, we manage to keep the team running quite smoothly.
