Linuxers of the world, unite !

For those who want to follow this advise AND who live in the neighbourhood of
Belgium, october 15 1994 is the day, 'De Kam' in Wezembeek-Oppem, near
Brussels, the place to be. One day it will be the virtual centre of the
Linuverse.

That very day, IGUANA has its first public event. IGUANA stands for
Independent Group of Unix-Alikes and Networking Activists (or make that
"Addicts" if you can't resist the temptation). After a couple of
meetings we organised in our pre-natal phase (as an organisation, that
is) we decided setting up a vzw/asbl (*) would broaden our horizons for the
things we would like to do.

Just like the previous meeting, march 5th, in the same 'De Kam',
you can bring your computer. We'll have a local network that will interconnect
all of the four conference rooms. There will also be a slippery connection to
the internet, kindly provided by INnet.
At the entrance, you might apply for a couple of boot(disk)s (not made
for walking, that just won't be what they do), that will enable you to
install Linux on your PC from several sources. A network (or VISA) card can be
handy though. Be sure to preregister though, if you want to bring your
machine ! There might be more candidates than seats (we'll provide 100
IP-connections).

During the day, you can attend to some of the workshops (Linux for
beginners, Fido-on-linux-wheels, TCP/IP...) or one of the lectures. The
latter are quite amazing, we think. You will be able to see a L.T. from
Helsinki Finland, talking about his first non-virtual trip to Belgium
during this life. Alan Cox from Swansea, UK, will be present either.
He'll talk about the networking code in Linux. From Paris, France we
have Remy Card, the guy responsible for the ext2fs. Last but not
least, because we're known to be chauvinists, we put Peter De Schrijver
on stage. He's responsible for the token ring support for Linux.

The internal you can be satisfied during the whole day, as you can get
food and drinks. The spiritual you might be enlighted by a Linux Journal.
Oh yes, we nearly forgot to mention that the MacBel User Group will be
present too, giving demo's about internet access during the day.

Hey, did you read this ?

LINUS TORVALDS IS COMING TO BELGIUM !!!
                           AND IT'S THE PREMIERE !

OK, now, for those of you who have to cross a frontier, we checked out
several places where you can spend the night before or after. Check out
the WWW (cfr sub) for more info on hotels and youth hostels. On the WWW,
you can also find the route description in three languages (still
looking for a German translator ;-)).

The day after, for those who come from another country and who would
like to see Belgium, there's a TTB-day (Train, Tramway, Bus). For a
symbolic price, you can travel around Belgium with these transportation
ways and discover Belgium.

Prices:
                   pre-register (till october 10) (**) october 15th
