Dear Fellow Netters,
I am writing this to tell you of some common facts. Linux is a worthless
operating system and should not be run by anyone. Simply wiping it off
your computer and installing a real system like Windows NT is the best course
of action you can take to defeat this evil plague.
Linux is NOT UNIX and it never will be. In fact, it is nothing but a look
good feel good pathetic attempt at emulating UNIX. It is the worst thing
since Macintosh System 7. ANy one running Linux should be shot.
Please follow this letters suggestions and remove Linux from your computer.
I am also advising all net admins to remove the Linux INSTALLS from any
ftp site they are currently on. I have also contacted the US Government
and the SPA to make any site carrying Linux subject to criminal prosecution
for harbouring illegal source code.

If you follow up to this message without removing misc.test from the header you
will spend the next week getting e-mail from what seems like every news site
in the world. It's fine if you intention is to check your news posting
software, but it's quite another to get a ton of e-mail that you don't want.
That post was one of the finest examples of flame bait that I've seen. It's
entirely an emotional plea with no factual data to support any claims. Essen-
tially, it's childishness.

Calm down, it isn't worth that attention. If I recall correctly,
this is not the first attempt of Mr Monroy jr to get some attention
(I remember some very large postings regarding floppy controllers,
and a major project that noone seems to ever have seen, except
Mr. Monroy himself) in this group. Seems he has got a Windows NT
installation... Just ignore him, and this thread will stop immediately.

It seems that some rather bright person has gone
to the trouble to start this rather idiotic thread.
As you may, or may not, be aware, I did not author
or suggest, or even write such a silly article.
Someone has, in fact, forged my account, maybe
because of some of my recent successes.
I have written to anon.penet.fi to ask the account
be terminated. I appologize to everyone for the silly
childish actions of an individual.
I will, of course, as NETCOM to look into the
possible elimination of the person's account.
However, the only clue I have at this time is
that the "netcom3" machine was used.
Again, I appologize to all involved as it was not me
that posted these remarks. FYI, I was at a local
SVNET meeting when this thing was being posted.

Must be reading different trade magazines. There's not a lot of reports of
people using it successfully, but it's sure getting a lot of puff pieces
thrown its way.

You can see that people are getting upset that linux is popular. People
alway start SH#T when they get upset. It like the Car and truck crap
who drives the better car(or makes that better car). All that is important
s that it will get you where you are going. I have used NCR(AT&T), SunOS,
Interactiv Unix, and SCO. Linux has all that is needed plus alot that is not
:-) It sounds to me like (From reading the posts) that is just a bunch of
BSDers gitting pissed that linux is growing as fast as it is. OK so it
emulates UNIX and DOS and SCO sorry it runs unix programs and can use a DOS
emulater and run SCO Bins. People alway say if it smells like shit it is.
As far as me removing it from my 3 systems. Whant in one hand and shit in
the other and see which one get full first.
This does not help Paai with his question. Linux is not perfect. Thats why
there are patchs. But Linux is the best thing I every got for free. Good job
to Linus and all the others. If linux SUCKS so much then you should not be
wasting your time on this CRAP. Go post in the BSD groups and help someone
there.

I'm sorry, but it's really starting to annoy me that some of the Linux
camp is actually thick enough to think that the real BSD advocates
actually have any truck with this garbage. Those of us who aren't
still actually in elementary school, spending our summers seeing who
can have get the highest score in "Mortal Kombat XIVII", have
absolutely no problem with Linux. It's a fine operating system and I
sincerely hope that everyone connected with it has a long and happy
run. Be successful, be happy, just try to keep your diarrhetic dogs
off our lawn and we'll try to do the same!

I wish to make it clear that I AM OFFENDED by having such language
dumped on me.
People who want to abuse other people can use personal mail addresses

Shit happens! That flame was actually, IMNSHO, long overdue. I'm
usually pretty long-suffering about this kind of thing, but that sorry
thread has been simply dragging on far too long, and it was causing
heavy disruption on both groups. If my dynamite tactic actually works
in snuffing that thread, then I'll admit right up front that I'll be
more than happily consider unlucky folks like yourself "acceptable

USENET! It's a great big unruly crowd, ok? You have as much

There are cooler kitchens to hang around in, if heat is a problem for

It was a fast well priced file server. 3.5 now has this idiot client license
system so with lots of clients its like Novell - ludicrously expensive. How
can it be justified too - it doesn't cost microsoft any more if you add more
clients using the box.
SAMBA under Unix is at least free allbeit a little slower.

It hardly looks professional for newcomers to these newsgroups to see
dozens of messages with the subject "LINUX SUCKS"; it makes everyone
here look like a bunch of flamers who's own operating system has so
little going for it that all they can do with their spare time is
throw rocks at the other.
Please, Linux does NOT suck. It's got some nice features and instead
of flaming it, we really ought be looking very very hard at just why
it's got a user base about 5 times bigger than ours and thinking of
how we might address this imbalance! As the old saying goes "You
really can't argue with success."

Although this thread may be my fault, I have no
