Rob's World

High School is a terrible time. Everyone has a different way of dealing with the terror that it can cause. I survived by creating "Rob's World". In a nutshell, I would draw like a crazy person whenever possible. This had three main results. First, I rarely got a good grades. Second I [ http://slashdot.org:80/malda ] slowly began to figure out how to draw. Not good mind you, but enough to not suck. And finally, I ended up with over a hundred of these stupid cartoons.

Move forward a few years. Now I'm at Hope College [ http://www.hope.edu/ ] majoring in computer science [ http://www.cs.hope.edu/ ], and instead of trying to draw my way through classes, I just skip and play with HTML. I began scanning in cartoons, and posting them here. I scan in new cartoons occasionally so check back and just maybe there will be a new surprise for you waiting.

Of course, if you would like to see somewhat more impressive works of art, check out Duckpins [ http://slashdot.org:80/duckpins/index.shtml ]. It is a 45 second movie I animated using MHA. After this masterpiece, I created Hamster Havoc [ http://slashdot.org:80/hamster/index.shtml ], a 55 second animation,

I don't like very many of these cartoons. I have problems with everything I have ever drawn. Most of the cartoons are several years old, and I would like to completely re-draw them. Most of these drawings just suck. I'm sorry, I'm still learning how to draw to this day, and many of these cartoons are three or four years old! I'm better now, but not much, so its probably best to leave them be.

Surgeon General's Warning!
Some of these cartoons may be offensive. I often would draw something just for the satisfaction of someone telling me I should be take out back and shot. If you are offended, than I apologize. Now go away. If you don't get a joke, I apologize for that as well. Many of them are inside jokes among my friends. Many of them are, well, just weird. Some don't have a point. Some are extremely serious, and despite a disgusting joke, they really are a tiny window into my soul. Yeah right. Face it, the point of these things is to waste time. Mine and yours.

So I have this sort of twisted fascination with bungee jumping. Sue me. I think this would be a cool idea, I mean people do bungee jump from helicoptor. On the dark side, I have no idea how this machine would work.

I've always had sick fascination with bad puns. I always felt that cartoons were a great place for them. This cartoon is one of the few that I really like. I just wanna say I think I drew a cool fire. Even if I don't like the rest of the picture.

Not long ago, my 11th grade Chem teacher saw this pic. I swear I meant no offense to him or HCHS, this was drawn one afternoon in High School Chem, mostly due to the safety goggles that we were required to wear. We never blew anything up, so I still don't understand why we wore them.

Admit it- you've wanted to try this haven't you? Maybe its just me. For those of you who have actually done this... pretty cool, huh!

This is one of the oldest cartoons I have it is quite obviously just a weird version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I don't really understand it either.

This is an older cartoon. I really don't know what to say about it except that I am really sorry. This was drawn sort of in response to several bungee related deaths in the News. I can imagine that this sort of thing could happen.

Sometime in the not-to-distant future, the United States will once again dominate the Olympics. The key to our victory is the introduction of a new sport, the likes of which the rest of the world has never seen. They'll never know what hit them! This cartoon is something of a personal joke. The person on the left is sorta dad. The scan is pretty crappy.

The phone company really doesn't want you to know about this one. This is also a pretty poor scan.

I had braces for many years. This cartoon doesn't really have a punch line, as much as it is something of a flashback to my younger days. Does anybody else remember those plastic things that hold your lips six feet apart? That was the basis for this cartoon.
