Subject: GATOS-0.0.3 released!

For those who are not planning to read the rest of the message
anyway, know this:

-Once you've tried it, send a success/failure report (see below).
-It is use-at-your-own-risk and the web page is lame.
	-It is at "http://www.core.binghamton.edu/~insomnia/gatos".

Note: A lot of people put work into the various ati-tv projects.
I couldn't figure out who everyone was, so if you contributed and feel we
used some of your work, please let me know and I'll add you to the AUTHORS
list in the next version.

SUCCESS/FAILURE REPORTS

GATOS is far from perfect, so Everyone, please send us a
success/failure report. To do so, send an e-mail to:
	Insomnia (Stea Greene) <insomnia@core.binghamton.edu>

	with a subject line of:
	GATOS SUCCESS: <card type/brief machine description>
	-or-
	GATOS FAILURE: <card type/brief machine description>

Then in the main body of the message:
-Specify what version of GATOS and what version of IBTK you are
using, as well as what card and machine type you are using
		in detail.
-describe any misbehaviors or missing features as well as any
suggestions you may have to improve it.
-Include a dump of "xatitv -v" (either as a MIME attachment or
		right in the message).
-If you find a definite bug, submit a bug report as well (see
file BUGS in the gatos distribution).

When an issue is fixed or if the report is not understood, you
will get a reply, so make sure your message is properly
		reply-able.

INTERNAL?

Though still technically an internal release, this now only means
it is not stable at all and you should use it at your own risk. It is
publicly available to all, and announced publicly on many sites.

DETAILS

For those more interested in detail, here are some of the cooler
new features of GATOS 0.0.3 (and it's companion app xatitv):

-Works a lot better. Works on almost all intended cards and has
	 very few outstanding problems.

-GATOS video memory requirement for capture buffers decreased by
80kb due to removal of an unnecessary feature (capture of raw VBI
data). Memory requirement for maximum quality is now 600kb for
	 NTSC/PAL-M and 864kb for PAL/SECAM.

-Monitor dotclock limit issue fixed. Video window should now work
in high-resolution modes, i.e. modes where the monitor dotclock
exceeds the Overlay Scaler limit. Included option to "Overclock"
and attempt to exceed this limit before reducing the overlay
	 clock.

-"Internal Audio" gone. Now can pick any mixer in setup.

-Added "Always on Top" feature. May have "Fight for Top" problems.

	-Fixed channel change static.

-Better error messages for hardware detection.

	-Fixed libc5 compilation (sys/perm.h errors).

-Lowlevel changes to support souncardless operation with sound.

-Added "-pci addr" option to xatitv to enable override of pciaddr
	 in gatos.conf.

-Desktop mode. Activate in setup and it'll be used when window is
	 iconified.

-Full-screen mode finished, DGA mode optional (in Setup). Use
	 Keypad "*" to toggle full-screen.

	-Brought back atitv app.

	-Channel wrapping in xatitv.

-Can now toggle GUI by pressing any mouse button except the left
on any area not occupied by an IBTK control.

-Many other GUI enhancements and user features in xatitv.

There are many more features that are too plentiful to list, try
it and let us know what you think!.
