Linux / XFree86 Developments

While ATI does not develop Linux or XFree86 drivers for its graphics cards in house, we actively support 3rd party developers that provide driver support for the majority of ATI products.

ATI Technologies Inc. is pleased to announce the following developments in Linux support.

  1. Software that provides the basic functionality for the ATI TV Tuner products is now available to end users, from http://www.core.binghamton.edu/~insomnia/gatos/.
  2. ATI has made the necessary hardware and programming information available to Linux developers for Rage 128 TV Tuner software development.
  3. Rage LT and Rage LT Pro support as now available in XFree86-3.3.5. More information can be found at http://www.xfree86.org/.
  4. A Rage 128 X server is now available from SuSE. Please see http://www.suse.de/XSuSE/XSuSE_E.html for download and installation instructions.
  5. ATI has made the necessary hardware and programming information available to Linux developers for Rage Pro and Rage 128 2D, 3D and video capture development.

If you wish to assist in developing drivers for ATI products, join the XFree86 Project as a Developer (information provided at http://www.xfree86.org).
