Was the driver for the Broadway MPEG-1 cards ever finished? Is there
anywhere to buy the boards anymore? I'd be interested in working on it.

A while back I took over the development, but since I was unable
to get hold of the old driver code, worked started from scratch...

Currently I have a bit of trouble of weeding out the NT specific
stuff and bringing it back to a clean program-the-chip-dude kind
of programming... Its seems all code is about 6 times present is
a slightly different form :(

Adam,

I started working on it about a year ago and couldn't continue trhe
effort. I don't think it was evwer finished.
D. Huseby" <huseby@u.washington.edu> was the ringleader in all
this at the time.
Yes, there are still places to buy the board. I got mine from
CompUSA but I haven't looked to see if they still carry them..
Data Translation is the mfg.
Hope this helps.

What board are the windows driver source available for?

Is this the right board: http://www.videoguys.com/datatran.htm ?
700$US is a bit pricier than I expected.

Anybody want to donate/loan a board to the project? :)

Adam,

I didn't pay $700 ($499 was about it) for my board at the time but it was an
introductory offer without alot of the bells and whistles.
It did the basic encoding and decoding and that was what I
needed. I haven't bothered to upgrade because by the time
I get around to it I'll probably have another camcorder and it
will be all digital.

BTW this is the right board.

Are all the hardware Broadway boards the same? Are all the changes
strictly software? Can you buy just the card? Has anyone approached
DATX to see if they'll donate a card to the project?

I can try... They're here in Marlborough MA last I heard...

I already got one sample card for someone on this list and Huseby got at
least one sample card from them at well. At the time, my father worked for
DATX and it was easy to get samples sent to people.

I don't know how kind they'll be about giving further samples, since I no
longer have any influence there and they've already given a few cards away
without a working driver port.
