SEYBOLD-BOSTON, Massachusetts--February 26, 1996--Furthering its commitment to provide comprehensive World Wide Web server solutions, Apple Computer today introduced its second-generation Apple Internet Server Solution for the World Wide Web.

"Products like this make it obvious why Macintosh is the leading platform for multimedia web content creation and publishing," said Jim Gable, senior director of system software product marketing. "By working with several top Macintosh developers, our second release of the Apple Internet Server Solution extends our advantages in ease-of-use, low-cost and high security for Internet webmasters."

Apple Internet Server Solution 2.0 couples award-winning software from industry-leading Internet developers with Apple's powerful new Workgroup Servers to provide webmasters with a complete web server for creating multimedia-rich sites (see related Workgroup Server press release dated February 26, 1996).

"The Apple Internet Server Solution 2.0 provides webmasters with the capability to serve text, graphics, audio, video, databases and virtual reality movies," said Mark Kriegsman, managing director of Clearway Technologies, Boston, a web tool developer. "These capabilities, combined with Apple's unparalleled ease-of-use, make the Apple Internet Server Solution the obvious choice for webmasters who want multimedia-rich sites."

Apple developed significant relationships with innovative Internet software developers to ensure that the Apple Internet Server Solution addresses the unique demands of the web server market. With the new version of the Apple Internet Server Solution, Apple expands its partnering to include Addison-Wesley Publishing, Adobe Systems, Clearway Technologies, EveryWare Development, Kitchen Sink Software, Maxum Development, Open Door Networks, and Progressive Networks.
