Nagel Leaves Apple to Head AT&T Labs Worldwide

CUPERTINO, California--April 15, 1996--David C. Nagel, senior vice president of worldwide research and development for Apple Computer, Inc., announced his intention to resign from the company effective April 26, 1996. Dr. Gilbert Amelio, Apple's Chairman and CEO, will serve as acting head of worldwide research and development until a permanent successor has been named.

Nagel, who joined Apple in 1988 to head the advanced technology group, has accepted a position with AT&T Labs as its first president. At AT&T Labs, Nagel will be responsible for worldwide research applications development and will oversee the development of a new generation of communications and information services.
