Cingular Wireless Tops 20 Million Wireless Voice Customers
Ohio Resident, the 20 Millionth Customer, Receives 20,000 Minutes of Free Service with Complimentary Phone
Cleveland, OH, February 21, 2001 - Just one month after introducing itself as the nation's newest provider of wireless service, Cingular Wireless today celebrated a Cleveland resident as its 20 millionth wireless voice service customer.
Jaime Price, a 24 year-old loan officer from Brunswick, received a free Nokia 8260 and 20,000 minutes of free airtime. The celebration was held at 10 a.m. today at Cingular's Strongsville store surrounded by 20 large clocks, representing the 20,000 minutes of free service.
"I'm completely amazed," said Price, who characterizes herself as someone who doesn't leave home without her wireless phone. "How many people can say that they were the 20 millionth customer of a company? One thing for sure - I won't have any problems using my 20,000 free minutes. Thanks to Cingular, I'm going to be the most connected woman in town."
Cingular is the only wireless provider dedicated to enhancing individual human expression. "We're very happy for Jaime, and the fact that she's from the Cleveland area is exciting for us," said Joe Buscemi, General Manager of the Northern Ohio region. "We hope she takes full advantage of her free wireless service and has fun expressing herself while doing it."
Price, an avid animal enthusiast who owns 10 pets - three dogs, four cats, two rabbits and a Macaw - plans to use her phone to keep in touch with family, friends and co-workers. She recently graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in business management.
