Cingular Expands Xpress Mail Product Suite to Offer Premier Corporate E-mail Service

Wireless B2B Leader Introduces Cingular Xpress Mailsm GoodLink™ Edition For Enterprise Employees to Stay Connected to Email While on the Go

ORLANDO, FL - WAVE 2002 - May 14, 2002 - Cingular Wireless today unveiled an expansion of the Cingular Xpress Mailsm suite of corporate e-mail access solutions, introducing an unrivaled "behind-the-firewall" solution for enterprises called Cingular Xpress Mail GoodLink™ Edition. The announcement came at Cingular's WAVE 2002 conference at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando.

Cingular Xpress Mail GoodLink Edition will be Cingular's premier wireless corporate e-mail application for enterprises. Deployed behind-the-firewall, Cingular Xpress Mail GoodLink Edition is an end-to-end wireless system that gives employees of companies the ability to securely access their Microsoft Exchange corporate e-mail, calendar, contacts, notes and tasks - even attachments. Customers also will be able to utilize the GoodInfo™ wireless information system that enables users to access Web-based applications and information using standards based technologies such as XML, CGI, and HTTP.

Cingular Xpress Mail GoodLink Edition will be available in June on data devices, such as the RIM 950 and 957 Wireless Handhelds™, which operate on the nation's preferred wireless packet data network - Cingular's nationwide Mobitex network. Cingular's Mobitex network provides such features as extensive and seamless coverage, high reliability and low latency. Monthly service for Cingular Xpress Mail GoodLink Edition starts at $34.99 with device prices starting at $249.

"Cingular Xpress Mail GoodLink Edition epitomizes simplicity," said Virginia L. Vann, Chief Marketing Officer for Cingular Wireless, who introduced the new enterprise solution during a speech this morning at WAVE 2002. "It is an end-to-end system that simplifies the experience both for the IT department when installing the service and for the end-user when managing his or her e-mail and other desktop functions when away from the office. We think this makes Xpress Mail GoodLink Edition a very attractive and superior alternative in the marketplace."

Cingular Xpress Mail GoodLink Edition delivers on what corporate customers have requested, improving upon other wireless corporate e-mail services in several areas, including:

Cingular Xpress Mail GoodLink Edition is based on the GoodLink™ wireless corporate messaging system from Good Technology, Inc., the Sunnyvale, CA-based innovator in enterprise mobile messaging systems which also developed GoodInfo. GoodLink is an end-to-end software-based solution that is securely deployed behind the firewall to work with a company's existing Microsoft Exchange server.

"Cingular's Mobitex network is the most powerful and feature-rich wireless data network available to meet the considerable demand for wireless data services that exists in the marketplace," said Danny Shader, Chief Executive Officer of Good Technology, Inc. "That's why we chose it to be the network on which to develop and introduce our exciting, differentiated brand of services. We did considerable research and found that the many strengths of Cingular's Mobitex network deliver today on Good's requirements and those of customers."

Cingular also offers two other Xpress Mail services that give customers access to their Microsoft Exchange or Lotus Notes corporate e-mail and other desktop functions. There's Cingular Xpress Mail BlackBerry Edition, another behind-the-firewall solution for data-only handhelds and Cingular Xpress Mail Network Edition, which gives customers a real-time and secure view of their desktops from their mobile phones without additional hardware or software at the enterprise's server.

Cingular's nationwide Mobitex packet data network drives many of Cingular's branded corporate e-mail access and interactive messaging services, and custom solutions for Fortune 1000 companies like FedEx, Honeywell and Sears. Smart Business Magazine selected Cingular's Mobitex network as an MVP Award Winner as the "Best of the Best" wireless data network in 2001.
