Danger Announces Partnership with T-Mobile to Deliver Wireless Data Services to Consumers

PALO ALTO, Calif. (August 6, 2002) — Danger, Inc. today announced a partnership with T-Mobile U.S.A., a member of the T-Mobile International group, the mobile telecommunications subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom (NYSE: DT), to develop and sell innovative wireless products based on Danger's Hiptop™ Platform and Services. Designed and developed by Danger, Inc., T-Mobile will be the first wireless operator to offer the Hiptop™ enabled device—named the T-Mobile Sidekick—later this fall across all its markets nationwide.

The T-Mobile brand made its debut in the United States in July with the launch of service in California and Nevada and will transition its current VoiceStream Wireless name to T-Mobile in the coming months, marketing the brand and its services in 45 of the top 50 U.S. markets and 8,000 U.S. cities.

The T-Mobile Sidekick featuring Hiptop technology is a wireless all-in-one device that combines a fully-featured mobile phone with a variety of data communication applications including: an HTML Web browser, email, instant messaging, personal information management features, games and a digital camera accessory. Danger's Hiptop Wireless Solution will enable wireless operators to deliver voice, Web, messaging and entertainment services on a fun all-in-one device. This combined solution, will be available to consumers for the first time through the T-Mobile Sidekick.
