Cingular Takes Rollover Nationwide

"They're your minutes - keep 'em"

ATLANTA - August 19, 2002 - Cingular Wireless today announced the launch of Rollover - the wireless plan that lets customers keep their unused monthly minutes. Customers who have leftover package minutes in one month will have them "rolled over" into the next month for up to 12 months.

"Rollover lets customers keep what they're paying for," said Virginia Vann, Cingular's chief marketing officer. "These plans bring a new value proposition to wireless customers. If they don't use their package minutes, they don't lose their package minutes."

Market research conducted for Cingular shows that consumers believe Rollover provides value and personal control because customers no longer feel they are wasting money on unused minutes.*

Rollover is available for customers who select an eligible Cingular local plan costing $39.99 a month or more. The plans will also include Nationwide Long Distance at no extra cost.

"Rollover differentiates Cingular in a world dominated by 'big bucket' pricing plans," said telecommunications analyst Jeffrey Kagan. "This is a clear, simple and fair concept that consumers can appreciate."

The promotion is being supported by an advertising campaign created by BBDO Atlanta and BBDO New York. The campaign - which will include print, radio, television and Internet - uses the tagline "They're your minutes - keep 'em."

Cingular Expands Rollover Plan

Wildly popular feature now available on national plans

ATLANTA (October 1, 2002) - Cingular Wireless today expanded its wildly popular Rollover feature to select national rate plans.

Rollover, the wireless plan that lets customers keep their unused monthly minutes, is now available on Cingular Preferred Nation plans costing $39.99 and more. Customers who have leftover package minutes in one month will have them "rolled over" into the next month for up to 12 months.

Cingular Preferred Nation plans allow Cingular customers to travel nationwide on the Cingular network with no roaming or long distance charges. The plans cover the most heavily traveled cities in the United States.

"Consumers can now get Rollover with the additional benefits of the Cingular Preferred Nation plan," said Virginia Vann, Cingular's chief marketing officer. "Customers can keep their unused package minutes and have the freedom of traveling on Cingular's extended nationwide network."

Added Roger Entner, Wireless/Mobile Services analyst with the Yankee Group: "The extension of Rollover to its Preferred Nation Plan enables Cingular to differentiate itself in the eye of the consumer. Consumers appreciate the peace of mind and additional value of rolling over their unused minutes from month to month. Rollover is a welcome step away from merely competing on price."

Rollover with Cingular Preferred Nation plans are available nationwide beginning October 1st with the exception of Tulsa, Austin, Houston, West Texas, Upstate New York, Kauai, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. These areas will have the product available later in the fall of 2002.
