Industry leaders partner with Symbian

Symbian signs ARM, HP, Motorola SPS, RealNetworks and Texas Instruments as Platinum Partners

London - 2 December 2002 - Symbian, creator of Symbian OS, the open, industry standard operating system for advanced mobile phones, today announces that ARM, HP, Motorola SPS, RealNetworks, and Texas Instruments have joined its Platinum Partner Program. They and more than 80 other Platinum Partners meet today at the Symbian Partner Event (SPE) in London to discuss the rapidly expanding commercial opportunities and advanced technical developments around Symbian OS.

The SPE is designed to bring together Symbian partners from across the mobile industry - technology innovators, content & service providers and network operators - to communicate the latest advances in Symbian technology and to foster commercial contacts and business opportunities for Symbian Partners.

Attendees will see the latest technology, applications and services for Symbian OS phones exhibited by more than 35 Platinum Partners and hear from Nokia, Siemens and Sony Ericsson as well as from Sendo Ltd who have recently announced their intention to become a Symbian OS licensee. Partners will meet with Symbian OS licensees and network operators to discuss and identify the most compelling technology and commercial developments in the mobile industry.

Exposium03: On April 29-30 2003, Symbian is hosting Exposium03, an open mobile phone industry exhibition and developer conference that brings together contributors to the Symbian OS ecosystem participating in the institution of industry standards, through hardware architecture, Symbian OS technology, UI design, value-add applications, services, content and retail chains. Attendees build a custom agenda, choosing from keynote addresses, development and technical sessions, training and exhibits. Exposium03 will be held at the London's ExCel Centre.
