Compaq Computer Sells Out 6 Million Shares At $11 Each

HOUSTON -- COMPAQ COMPUTER CORP. WENT PUBLIC FRIDAY WITH AN INITIAL OFFERING OF SIX MILLION COMMON SHARES INITIALLY PRICED AT $11 EACH, SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER THAN THE $15 TO $18 INDICATED IN ITS PRELIMINARY PROSPECTUS.

THE OFFERING SOLD OUT.

PROCEEDS WILL BE USED TO REPAY SHORT TERM DEBT AND FINANCE EXPANSION OF MANUFACTURING AND ADMINISTRATIVE FACILITIES.
