The cool thing was the IBM movie.

The most interesting part was IBM's movie. That was *cool*!
The movie starts out with a screen of 10 people. 5 from ATT/Novell, 3 from IBM, and 2 from Sequent. The ones who were responsible for the ATT-IBM and ATT-Sequent contracts.
Then it goes into showing the depositions of each one of them where they quite emphatically, every one of them, state that IBM owns and controls their own code and not ATT.
ome look at the camera to say it. No equivocation, just each one saying in their own words, that essentially SCO's goose is cooked (they don't say that obviously).
It's quite different than reading the same things in the exerpts of their transcripts we've read. These are real, lucid, people who were responsible on both sides saying it.
The funny bit was that Mariott telling the Judge that he's just given him 3.5 more hours of the same on CD to watch. The Judge humorously thanked him.

The courtroom was packed. Both lawyers and peanut gallery.

( Chris Brown report, more to come on GrokLaw)
The problem with SJs is that they are relatively easy to defeat. The opposition only has to show a factual dispute of some sort. Only Jurys can resolve factual disputes. SCO raised several issues they believe there are factual disputes over.
SCO elucidated several issues where they believe there are factual disputes and ambigous contract language.

They covered what they wanted to today. I expect the same next week. They are very concious of their time, at the beginning of the hearings it's decided how many minutes each have and while they often go over, they still pace themselves to cover their ground.

They covered the PSJs on SCO's Contract Claims and the Copyright Claims.
