Hi all,

I've been recently swamped by the academic side of life, does anyone
attend ICRA 2011 in Shanghai next month?

I'm now getting back up to speed, targeting the 0.8.3 release. The
current state is:

- master, dev branches still suboptimal (e.g. TX issues in serial in
Linux, due to qextserialport)
- new-uart branch has a new UART interface (removed qextserialport,
replaced with QSerial) which works for me, but needs more intensive
testing (Thanks James for pioneering this).
- opmapcontrol branch has the current *nice* stuff with QMapControl
replaced by OPMapControl (much better) and QextSerialPort replaced by
QSerial (also much better)

I will try to conclude the integration and testing of OPMapControl and
QSerial ASAP, merge the patches on the mailing list (thanks!) then
resolve any remaining feature requests (mostly WP protocol) and then
move on to make it stable for 0.8.3. Sorry for the confusion and delay
in the last weeks, the next deadline of that size is now a few years
out.

The good news is that the new libraries reduce the CPU usage
dramatically and resolved some previously weak spots in the
application (about a million less bugs just in the libraries).

Cheers,
-L
