[Canberrauav] A couple of things Stephen Dade stephen_dade at hotmail.com Tue Jul 2 14:11:15 UTC 2013 I've combined several emails into one to save spamming everyone's inbox: 1. For those who aren't aware, we have a documentation site (https://canberrauav.readthedocs.org/en/latest/). It contains CanberraUAV admin, policy, meeting minutes and project details. It is updated several times a week and is the central resting spot for all our "paperwork". 2. There is a possibility of a CanberraUAV visit to RSISE at ANU, who are very interested in our work (and vice versa). They are using motion-capture systems (and APM's) to fly quadcopters. The visit is tentatively scheduled for the 16th July in the afternoon. All members are welcome to come along. 3. Now that we have regular access to a testing range, the general plan is to go up there once per month. We would use this to do all-up testing and long range flights. Where possible any major changes would be tested at CMAC the weekend beforehand to ensure we make the most of our time at the testing range. I'll look at writing up a testing regime/flowchart on the github admin repo. And most importantly: CanberraUAV is (once again) ramping up our development cycle for the OBC2014. This is in addition to potentially participating in real life Search and Rescue operations - or at least proving/demonstrating our capabilities to S&R organisations. For this we need more team members who are able to contribute to CanberraUAV's efforts. This is a chance to go out and "do something awesome", working at the forefront of open-source civilian UAV technology. This includes such things as: -Developing the imaging system -Adding features to the APM autopilot -Expanding the ground station and mission planning software -Constructing, fitting out and repairing airframes -Improving the accuracy of our positioning sensors -Writing up policy, procedures and checklists -Documenting and analysing our test flights -Liaising with external organisations -Researching and purchasing equipment -Any many other things! No experience or prior knowledge is required - just a willingness to learn and get involved! We are more than happy to teach and assist with any newcomers. If you are interested in further contributing to CanberraUAV, you can either reply to the CanberraUAV mailing list or directly to me. Thanks Stephen Dade (President)
