He says that he is receiving an awful lot of reject slips from the p.o. This means that quite a few of you are sending him things that he just can't have. For example, they won't let through any more than 5 books at a time. If you want to send something to Len, but aren't sure if it will get through, you should feel free to give me a call or drop me some e-mail and I'll advise. I then telephoned the "unit management" person who stated there is not a set of regulations which could be mailed to me. I was also told by this person that books could would only be accepted if they were shipped by the publisher. FOIA process has been begun in this regard as I deem the refusal of the system to provide written regulations by which they are required to abide a system which opens the door to arbitrary and capricious management of prison affairs. The FOIA process has been directed to two levels. Len is at present subject to such arbitrary and capricious treatment at the hands of the Attorney General of the United States. Bill Vajk

Well, all this is, of course, different from what I was told -- but that is to be expected. I've had good luck sending Len two books a week since he has been in, along with newsletters, magazines, and printouts. Of course, I've called up several times and bitched at them when his packages were opened and books stolen out of them. The reason folks should contact me is because I've had some practical experience in getting things through -- the prison sleazebags will *not* help you. -- Rita Marie Rouvalis r...@eff.org Electronic Frontier Foundation | You can't play with Deadsy unless you've 155 Second Street | got them great, big sex-o-thingies.
