@Home Names Tom Jermoluk Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer
Founding CEO, Will Hearst appointed to vice-chairman of the company's Board of Directors
Mountain View, California -- July 31, 1996 -- At Home Corporation (@Home) today
announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Tom Jermoluk to the position
of Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of @Home. Formerly President
and Chief Operating Officer of Silicon Graphics, Inc., Mr. Jermoluk's appointment
is effective immediately. The company's founding CEO, Will Hearst, will serve as
vice-chairman of @Home's Board of Directors.
Since joining Silicon Graphics in 1986, Jermoluk was responsible for navigating
the company through successful product transitions and negotiating significant strategic
mergers such as MIPS Computer Systems, Cray Research, Alias Research and Wavefront
Technologies. During his tenure as president and COO, the company grew to nearly
$4 billion in revenue run rate and over 11,000 employees. In assuming the positions
of Chairman, President and CEO of @Home, Jermoluk, 40, has resigned from his management
roles at Silicon Graphics.
Prior to Silicon Graphics, Jermoluk managed a variety of hardware and software development
projects at Hewlett Packard and Bell Laboratories. He has a master's and a bachelor's
degree in computer science from Virginia Tech.

Comcast Corporation and Cox Communications. He also formed @Home's senior management
team, which represents key executives from the Internet, computer, cable and publishing
industries. In addition to serving on the board of directors of @Home, Hearst will
resume his responsibilities as general partner at Silicon Valley venture capitalist
firm, Kleiner Perkins Caulfield & Byers.
