I'm confused. I realize PJ doesn't like to post links to O'Gara's, um, stories,
but I have no idea what prompted the above parody...

Thank you Darl.

Every time he attacks groklaw, more hits go to the site, and more and more
mainstream reporters learn about groklaw.
Pamela Jones is now part of the Opensource Pantheon.
The few people given the privilege of deity status are the ones who will live on
in people's memory.
In terms of fame, I place PJ at third place now.
The big 4 are:
Linus Torvalds - the engineer
Richard Stallman - the pioneer
Pamela Jones - the reporter
Eric S Raymond - the voice
And if I have forgotten anyone, it is ptobably proof thast they're not in my
pantheon. Gods are created in the minds of people; maybe someone else would have
a different pantheon.
Following Pamela's lead, this sort of blog is catching on, and the collective
mind is empowering people who otherwise woudl have a lost case.

While not wishing to diminish PJ's very significant contributions, I think she
has a few years work to catch up with the other three.

I agree. I have zero interest in being anybody. The whole point
of Groklaw is that it's a group effort. It doesn't matter who
I am. I honestly think that Darl will find nobody but SCO cares.
Groklaw stands on its own feet.

Darl are you trying to threaten PJ?
April 14 2005
I don't find any humor in his quote at all, personally I find it to be a
thinly
veiled threat to PJ. He's sounding like a megalomaniac willing to bully people
into submission. Have you heard of a CEO saying we are looking into a
background of an analyst when they give a sell rating on their stock? So what
business of it is his, if a person wants to cover a public legal fight of a
publicly traded company, whose CEO is known to make one too many comments to the
media? Thanks to Darl's big mouth this trial right from the beginning has been
such a big circus that the only thing missing is the little boys on a ranch in
Utah and the tabloid reporters would of been all over this to... Maybe we can
get that 13 year old boy in that IBM Linux commercial to say Darl touched him?
It's good you brought it to our attention PJ, if you feel you are ever being
tracked by any private investigator or suspicious person let us know and the
authorities. If you ever feel you are threatened let us know and we will be
more than willing to help fund any type of security arrangement you feel you may
need. I'm just one person from Canada, but I work for a company that helps
handle security requirements for numerous corporations, including 60% of the
fortune 500 companies. My relative is a member of Parliament in the Canadian
government, and my friend has a senior posting in the cities police department.
Now times this by hundred's and thousands of friends you have all over the world
- nothing can buy that kind of trust, friendship and resources that you have
access to.
In the mean time use some common safety sense. As you probably are aware a
certain amount of info is relatively easily obtainable so make sure you are
aware of any unauthorized credit checks on you, since most credit agencies store
who accessed your private info. Further more get a good 'cross cutting'
shredder for any personal info you discard.
If I were you Darl I would be less worried about PJ, and more worried about your
golden parachute, cause once SCO is dead and buried, we (Not PJ) who work in
senior management in many industries and corporations (ALL AROUND THE WORLD) are
going to make sure you don't ever work in the IT field again...
You know you are screwed when your a CEO of a publicly traded company fighting a
multi-billion dollar lawsuit, your revenue is plummeting, and you are more
worried about a paralegal's blog, yeesh :-(

I think it's clear from what he said in the call that they do
have a private investigator on this ridiculous exercise,
trying to find some dirt.

Here's the key to Groklaw's success, in my view. I had no
personal agenda at all, except to try to do some research to
see if it would work with a group. That's it. I never expected
to be read so widely, never wanted to be a public figure and I
still avoid it to the best of my ability. And I want nothing
out of it, except to be effective. I do think that is why it
worked, among other reasons.
