PJ has mentioned in previous atrticles, most of them long past, that she uses a Mac, but she also uses a GNU/Linux system, weither it's on PPC is not publicly known, email PJ, she could most likly provide the answer.

Besides Macs make one hell of a unix workstation, most of the Linux apps work with only a recompile and some minor code modifications under OS X and there are many projects actively working on porting more apps to run under OS X. (See Darwin Ports [ http://darwinports.opendarwin.org/ ])
