The development team has grown substantially over the past few weeks, and we’re moving forward in every direction. We’re working on streamlining a lot of the processes that are going to make up Grooveshark into a reliable system that will work quickly and easily on any major browser.
Right now, we have a few key areas that we’re working on developing:
» The downloadable “helper” application, mostly in Java, which will facilitate
file transfers and handle library monitoring
» The database for containing all
of our information, which is being handled with MySQL
» The classes for interfacing
the frontend with the database, written in PHP
» The code for handling Ajax calls
on the backend, written in PHP
» The frontend itself, written mostly in jQuery
[ http://www.jquery.com/ ]
» The actual module designs, made in Photoshop and
converted to XHTML/CSS
Anyway, we’re building the prototype in stages, and we’re making progress across the board. At this point, we have two modules almost entirely finished, the database entirely structured, and most of the PHP classes written. The jQuery and Ajax work keep piling up, but we’re digging through it every day.
