I have a second new DVD drive and it won't play any DVDs yet because it never has had its region set (It is RPC-2). So when I try playing it goes so far and then I get the region mismatch error. If I really need to, I can run it under NT and it will bring up a set utility, but there has to be an ATAPI command to do this. I didn't see any ioctl in the kernel that looked promising. Currently, the disk authenticates, and goes up to getting the title key and fails there. Before I do this under NT, I thought I would see if anyone could point me at something I could use under Linux or at the specs so I could roll my own. My Original SCSI drive works fine, so I don't need to use the new drive soon, but I am configuring an IDE system.

There will be 2 more ioctl's in the DVD-AUTH package. Jens, any progress, or final information on the naming? -- = Christian Wolff *196807101035 53=B08'2" N 8=B013'20" E http://www.scarabaeus.org/ mailto:scarabaeus@scarabaeus.org check out http://betalounge.com/ http://www.convergence.de +49-30-4473 6926, Norwegerstr. 5.1, D-10439 Berlin, Germany PGP Fingerprint:B871 358C 3F10 A5ED C41C B1DB B9F9 3C44/2048

It was quickly hacked in and hasn't been tested - so please do! -- * Jens Axboe < axboe@image.dk> * Linux CD-ROM Maintainer * http://www.kernel.dk
