Apple Board Reaffirms Support for CEO Spindler

Cupertino, California--Oct. 4, 1995--The board of directors of Apple Computer, Inc. reaffirmed its full support for Michael H. Spindler, the company's president and chief executive officer, during a regularly scheduled meeting of the Board which concluded yesterday.

"The board will continue working with Mr. Spindler to address the challenges and exciting opportunities we face in the dynamic personal computer industry," said A. C. (Mike) Markkula, chairman of Apple's board of directors. "The unprecedented demand for our new products demonstrates the growing appeal of the Macintoshr platform ," he added. "We are committed to actively working with the management team of Apple under Mr. Spindler's leadership to create value for our shareholders."

Joseph A. Graziano, executive vice president and chief financial officer, announced his intention to resign as a Director effective immediately and leave the company by year end, due to differences in opinion with the CEO. Mr. Graziano stressed that the parting is amicable and that he will work with Mr. Spindler to effect a smooth transition.
