Consumers wanting the latest in wireless products and accessories do not have to go any further than their home computer, thanks to Southwestern Bell's new Internet store.
Conveniently located at www.swbellwireless.com, Southwestern Bell's new store sells wireless phone accessories ranging from leather cases to DC adapters, and it is always open. The store comes complete with an on-line "shopping cart" where visitors can gather products from Ericsson, Motorola, NEC, Nokia and Oki until they are ready to "check out."
When customers are ready to make a purchase, they process their transaction through a secure server. Customers can even save billing information on the server to make return visits even simpler.
The on-line store also features product information specific to local markets including coverage area maps, calling plans and traditional retail locations in cities throughout the Southwestern Bell region of Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas.
Industry experts expect on-line sales to account for $1.5 trillion or 2 percent of the global Gross Domestic Product by 2002.
