WOODBRIDGE, N.J. – August 14, 2001 – Customers of Cingular Interactive, a business unit of Cingular Wireless, can now stay connected wirelessly even when traveling in Canada through Cingular’s new Canadian roaming service, which became commercially available today.

With Canadian roaming, U.S.-based Corporate E-mail PLUS and Interactive Messaging PLUS subscribers can use those services in major metropolitan areas across Canada via the Rogers™ AT&T® Wireless Mobitex network. Through a special introductory offer, activation fees and monthly Canadian roaming charges for Corporate E-mail PLUS and Interactive Messaging PLUS customers will be waived until January 1, 2002.

Corporate E-mail PLUS and Interactive Messaging PLUS customers who live and work in the U.S. can easily sign up for the Canadian roaming service by sending an e-mail request containing the device MAN number to CI-Activations@cingular.com. Canadian roaming activations generally are completed within 24 business hours. Once they are enabled for the service, subscribers simply change the network roaming setting on their handhelds to “Canada” to begin using their Corporate E-mail PLUS or Interactive Messaging PLUS services when outside the U.S.
