Nokia 6800 Messaging Phone and AT&T Wireless' GSM/GPRS Network Bring Next
Generation Mobile Data Services to Consumers
Redmond, Washington and Irving, Texas, ( July 9, 2003 )- AT&T Wireless (NYSE:
AWE) and Nokia (NYSE: NOK) today announced the immediate availability of the
Nokia 6800 messaging phone, which can be purchased through the AT&T Wireless web
site (www.attws.com) or at participating retail locations. Taking advantage of
AT&T Wireless' advanced GSM/GPRS network and mMode data plans, the Nokia 6800
messaging phone allows users to enjoy next generation services such as mobile
email, instant messaging, the sharing of digital images and sound via Multimedia
Messaging Services (MMS), and over-the-air application downloads. The phone,
optimized for messaging, features flip access to a full QWERTY keyboard for
quick and convenient text input.
The Nokia 6800 phone (GSM/GPRS 850/1900MHz) operates on packet data GPRS
networks for high-speed data connectivity and fast delivery of e-mail from POP3
and IMAP4 servers. Additionally, the Nokia 6800 comes pre-configured with an
e-mail application for access to mMode Mail, and supports XHTML browsing for
access to on-line mMode content, and *Java(TM) technology for downloading new
applications. Users can install new applications over the air via mMode. A
convenient notes application supports up to 3,000 characters of text, which can
be sent as a text message or transferred to a PC for later reference. This
messaging phone also offers speakerphone and voice recorder capabilities, as
well as rich PIM functionality including contacts, calendar and to-do list which
can be synchronized with many popular PC programs using the Nokia PC Suite
available for free downloaded from www.nokia.com.

Enhanced features on the Nokia 6800 phone include a full-color display,
integrated speakerphone and unique optional enhancements such as a desktop
charger / music stand and a stereo headset for use with the integrated FM
stereo. Users can also attach the optional Nokia Camera Headset via the Pop-Port(TM)
connector to capture, display and send digital images to a PC or other
MMS-enabled mobile device.
For as little as $2.99 a month plus usage charges, AT&T Wireless customers can
add mMode and get dozens of ways to stay connected to the people and things they
care about. With mMode they can e-mail friends, check the latest news or sports
scores, get driving directions, see if their flight is on time, or play a Kung
Fu game, among many other possibilities. The Nokia 6800 messaging phone is
available from AT&T Wireless for $149.99 and after mail-in rebate is for $99.99.
