Steve Case on Mozilla

I received this encouraging email from Steve Case, founder and CEO of AOL. He gave me permission to post it here.
Jamie, I read what you posted on the mozilla.org site yesterday about ``fear and loathing on the merger trail'' and also your ``the day after'' update. Hopefully by now the AOL positon on mozilla.org is clear to all, but I did want to let you know personally that we're very supportive of mozilla.org; indeed, we're hopeful that our involvement might rally even more support among developers in the open source community. We certainly realize that platform innovation comes from the work of thousands of passionate developers, and we share your view that the agenda of Mozilla is and should be set by those who contribute to it. We will contribute too -- in part, by maintaining the autonomy of mozilla.org. On our press call yesterday, Mike Homer said Mozilla is larger than Netscape. I know it's larger than AOL, too. I hope to meet you when I am visiting Netscape on Monday. Regards, Steve Case |
