IBM to Offer Windows 95, Establish Support Center

SOMERS, N.Y., Aug. 24, 1995 -- IBM announced today it has signed an agreement with Microsoft to offer Windows 95** pre-loaded on IBM desktop and mobile systems.

As a result, Windows 95 will be available on the Aptiva* PC, IBM PC* 300 and 700 Series and ThinkPad* mobile computers, beginning in September.

In support of this offering, IBM is broadening its technical support offerings at its Kirkland, Wa. support center to include Windows 95. The center will ensure compatibility between Windows 95 and IBM PC Company products, as well as provide device driver development, performance benchmarks, hardware optimization and advanced function development. In addition, IBM will provide hardware and systems compatibility testing, device and configuration testing, as well as network and application environment testing.
