First Mac Product by Mitchell Kapor
PALO ALTO, Calif., Jan. 22, 1990 -- PRNewswire -- Demonstrations of On Location, the first Macintosh product developed by Lotus founder Mitchell Kapor, are now available exclusively at all five ComputerWare retail stores.
On Location is a Macintosh utility program that puts users in control of information stored on their hard disks. "On Location is an addictive product," reported Geoff Westefield, director of retail operations for ComputerWare.
"After beta testing On Location for four weeks, I can't imagine how I would live without it," Westerfield added. The product is expected to start shipping in February.
Demonstrations on On Location by specially trained sales personnel are available at ComputerWare stores in Palo Alto, Sunnyvale, San Francisco, Berkeley (Formerly MacOrchard) and Santa Cruz.
On Location is the first product introduced by On Technology, the Cambridge, Mass. company founded by Mitchell Kapor. Kapor started Lotus Development Corp. where he guided the development of Lotus 1-2-3, the most successful single application software product in the history of the personal computer industry.
ComputerWare, the Palo Alto-based all Macintosh retailer is the exclusive Bay Area source for demonstrations of On Location.
