CUPERTINO, Calif. -- Xerox Corp. will market Apple Computer Inc. products in about 15 countries in Central and South America, the third such arrangement between the two companies, they said.
The three-year agreement calls for Xerox to distribute all Apple products through authorized dealers and the Xerox network of sales offices and service centers. In addition, Stamford, Conn.-based Xerox will sell Apple products directly to large businesses and government accounts in Central and South America. Other terms weren't disclosed.
Apple said its products currently are marketed in the area by independent distributors who supply authorized dealerships with Apple products. The new agreement makes Xerox available to support those dealers through its own distribution and service networks.
In May, the Canadian units of both companies arranged for Xerox to sell Apple computers in Xerox's 21 retail stores in Canada. A similar agreement is also in effect in France.
