These photos were taken at the USENIX annual conference [ http://www.usenix.org/publications/library/proceedings/usenix01/ ] in Boston.
A lot of people arrived round the start of the tutorials, but hung around the hallways talking. We arranged a ``BSD couch'' conveniently close to an 802.11b wireless network access point for them to hack.
We needed power for our laptops, of course. Digging under a sofa, this is what we found:
On 26 June was Brian Somers' birthday. Here we are in the bar of the hotel starting the celebration. Brian didn't like being in the limelight, so I gave him a blindfold to keep the light out.

After that we went to an Indian place somebody had found. The food was not good. Below, <mumble>, Arjan de Vet, <mumble>, Robert Watson.

Photos of the conference dinner. The food may have been good, but the queues were so long that I hardly got at the food. I'm glad that I insisted that we have table service at the AUUG annual conference [ http://www.auug.org.au/winter/ ].
Even during the conference dinnner, we couldn't stop people hacking. Here's John Baldwin, otherwise known as BigKnife:

After the conference we kicked on in the bar. I don't know everybody who was there; please contact me [ grog@FreeBSD.org ] if you can help me flesh out the names.
