Yahoo! Appoints Tim Koogle as President and CEO
Mountain View, Calif. -- August 2, 1995 -- Yahoo! Corp., the publisher of the most intuitive, up-to-date and efficient guide to the online world, announced today the appointment of Tim Koogle to the position of president and CEO. Mr. Koogle is replacing Philip J. Monego, Sr. of Technology Perspectives Inc. who served as Yahoo!'s interim CEO and president since the company's incorporation in April 1995.
In his new position, Koogle will oversee all operations of Yahoo! Corp. and manage the evolution of the company's popular online guide -Yahoo! - from a university project into a successful online business.

Prior to joining Yahoo!, Koogle was president of Intermec Corporation, a Seattle-based manufacturer of automated data collection and data communications products, for a three year period. Under Koogle's leadership, Intermec's annual sales rose by nearly 50 percent to over $300 million dollars. Koogle also served as corporate vice president of Intermec's parent company, Western Atlas Inc., a multinational information services and technology company with revenues exceeding $2.4 billion annually. Prior to Intermec, Mr. Koogle spent almost nine years with Motorala Inc., where he held a number of executive management positions in both operations and the corporate venture capital group.
Mr. Koogle received his M.S. and Engr. D. from Stanford University. He has been an active participant in numerous electronic industry trade associations including chairman of the board of directors for AIM, the principal worldwide trade association for the automated data collection industry.
