At Home Corporation Files for Initial Public Offering

Mountain View, CA -- May 19, 1997 -- At Home Corporation announced today that it has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission for an initial public offering of Series A Common Stock. All shares will be offered by the company.

The company is a leading provider of Internet services over the cable television infrastructure to consumers and businesses. The company's primary service offering, the @Home service, allows subscribers to connect their personal computers via cable modems to a new high-speed "parallel Internet" developed and managed by the company. The company intends to use the net proceeds for general corporate purposes, including working capital and capital expenditures.

The managing underwriters of the offering are Morgan Stanley & Co. Incorporated and Merrill Lynch & Co., which will jointly organize the activities of the managers, and Alex Brown & Sons Incorporated and Hambrecht & Quist LLC.
