Hi,

Just to let you know, I have almost completed support for a driver
with a Zoran ZR36120 framegrabber and an SAA7110 (onechip frontend thing)

Its doing overlays on screen, but not yet framegrabbing to memory due
to some (ahum) minor problems with getting 3.5MB kmalloced memory.
When that is done, mmap and reading will be supported too.

BTW.  What is the current status of the proposal? How do I handle
      setting the NTSC/PAL/SECAM mode on a channel? I did not enable
      the TUNER stuff because the SAA is not really tuner...

BTW2: I'm using tvset-980707 as a testapp under X. However this app
      is only giving me ONE overlay clip zone? Whenever I overlay the
      videoscreen with more windows, only the first is clipped, the rest
      is not even mentioned! Is this a bug in X (XF86_S3V) or in the
      app?

Oh bugger, I should have realised that. Ok (sound or ripping up API spec)
I'll put the norm in the channel not the tuner in the next draft.

Its probably a bug in tvset. You might want to bug Nathan Laredo and check

If you are running tvset, you should have a picture, but you may
have to switch channels ('I' command) before getting a real image.

BTW. I did not have access to an NTSC or SECAM videosource!
