SAN FRANCISCO, CA and SOMERS, NY August 11, 1999 -- Linuxcare, Inc., the leader in technical support, consulting, education and product certification for all distributions of Linux, announced today it has reached agreement with IBM to offer enterprise-class support services and training for the company's RS/6000 servers.
"The fact that IBM, the number one server vendor in the world, is now offering high-performance Linux servers is powerful validation for Linux in the enterprise," said Fernand B. Sarrat, President and CEO of Linuxcare. "We look forward to working with IBM to ensure that their customers have the best possible experience running Linux on RS/6000 enterprise servers."
"Our new relationship with Linuxcare will provide RS/6000 customers who choose Linux with both support and education options," said Debra Thompson, vice president, Marketing, IBM RS/6000 Division. Linuxcare provides frontline support directly to end users, systems administrators and developers, as well as backline support for corporate help-desks.
In addition, Linuxcare University will provide technical education specifically geared to RS/6000 platform.
